Acer vs Asus 2022: Which is the Better Brand and Why

Acer vs Asus: The Main Differences

Acer and Asus have a common ground when it comes to manufacturing budget laptops. However, there are notable differences that are worth considering when you are looking for the perfect brand. Asus has more gaming laptops to choose from than Acer. Acer has better pricing if you are looking for cheap laptops. When it comes to customer care services, stylish designs, and performance, one could argue that Asus surpasses Acer.

Looking at Acer and Asus. They are both some of the best-rated laptop brands and have maintained that reputation for a long time. There are notable differences between the two brands.

Not all of them will influence a buyer’s decision, as more weight is placed on specifications. These can be found on any laptop from any brand.

Asus is good for gaming laptops, whereas Acer makes some ultra-thin laptops that are quite functional and handy in the reasonably priced laptops category. Customer care is better with Acer, although both brands have their own weaknesses in assisting clients.

Below is a clear summary of what both brands do well and where they lack. We will consider the hardware components and options offered by each brand.

Acer vs Asus

Gaming laptops

Which of these two laptop brands is ideal for a gamer? When it comes to gaming, I have to compare the Acer Predator Triton 900 and the Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701.

The Acer Predator Triton 900 is mighty both, in terms of specs and price, which is perhaps why it is not ideal for low-budget users. The Acer Helios 300 is a more attainable option for a low-budget user.

What makes the Triton 900 a better gaming laptop is that it has a 17.3 inch IPS touch screen display, NVIDIA G-SYNC technology, high resolutions, multiple ports for great connectivity, speakers, webcam and it operates on the Intel Core i7-9750H six-core processor.

The Acer Helios  300 is fast and has a 17inch screen display, and comes with the NVIDIA RTX technology, an incredible GPU. It makes the user experience great and lively.

Asus also has some excellent gaming laptops. These include the Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701. It operates on the Intel Core i7 and has 8-24GB of RAM.

The screen is as wide as the Triton 900 screen that is 17.3 inches wide. The storage allows you to have plenty of games. The only criticism is perhaps that it is for higher-budget users.

The Asus Zephyrus G14 is also a great laptop for gaming. The only setback is that it does not have a webcam, and it tends to make noise as it does not have adequate fans. Acer has incredible gaming laptops for less, whereas ASUS has equally incredible gaming laptops that are not ideal for low-budget users.

For Business laptops

For business laptops, what matters most is battery life, display, storage, and portability. Comparing the Acer Spin 3 and the Asus ZenBook Flip S, there is a great conviction that the Spin series has a lot to offer. It has a larger display and longer battery life than the ZenBook series.

The Spin laptop is a good business laptop that is convertible. It has a 14inch display. The 360 degrees rotational hinge makes it user-friendly.

The connectivity is superb as is the fan for the cooling system. Wireless connectivity is excellent. It has a Thunderbolt 3 connector that makes it possible to connect a lot of 4K displays.

The Asus ZenBook Flip S is also convertible, but the screen is a bit smaller. It has a 13.3-inch display. The design is sleek, convenient, and versatile. It is a lightweight and portable device. One could argue that it is more of a tablet than a laptop.

The battery can power it for up to 11 hours. The speed at start-up as well as for data transfer. Considering the mentioned features that make your work experience a breeze, it isn’t easy to judge which business laptop is better than the other.

For Budget Laptops

Both brands excel in providing laptops that do not shun away low-budget users. You can hardly walk away without a laptop that suits your budget. As much as one might think less money means less quality, these two brands are not the case.

Taking a look at the VivoBook series, you may just be convinced that Asus does not give you a reasonably priced laptop of poor quality but a low-budget laptop that performs as well as higher-end laptops. Although the pricier ones, of course, come with some advanced features.

Considering basic features that maximize its performance, there is no doubt that there are various options. The VivoBook E402YA has 4GB RAM, 64GB Emmc, and Windows 10S.

The speed is quite impressive. It is durable and has a full-size keyboard that you can use for work or studying.  This is a clear representation of an improved device that makes it easier to type accurately.

It is smooth and comfortable. The backup option is reliable as it allows you to store your documents on OneDrive.  It has the IceCool technology that makes sure more heating does not affect your laptop.

It is lightweight, fast, and well equipped. The Asus Chromebook has an incredible battery life as it can give you power for up to 10 hours.

It has some of the best apps that play a pivotal role in the professional world. It is fast, secure, and convenient. It is very light in weight.

When it comes to Acer, Aspire 5 is one of the budget laptops that perform well. It has 8GB RAM and an Intel Core i7 processor.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 Convertible laptop is a 2 in 1 laptop that gives more than what is expected for laptops below 300. What is so special about this laptop is that it is 360 degrees rotational.

This innovative and convenient feature on a budget laptop is a huge bonus. Functionality makes one choose this kind of laptop even if you were expecting to pay more for another Acer version.

The battery life is incredible, as is the connectivity. Paying particular attention to the above-mentioned laptops, I would go for Acer since it has more advanced budget laptops. However, you can get some contenders from Asus.

For Chromebooks

When it comes to Chromebooks, it is not a matter of complicated versions that require one to go the extra mile when it comes to paying.

They have to be low-budget laptops that are not difficult to use. Basics matter in this case. Taking a look at Acer Chromebook 514, it has a 14inch full HD, 4GB RAM, and 2 USB ports.

While we would not go as far as calling it outstanding, it gives you great performance. It is strong, stylish, and has a big display. As much as it does not attract only high budget users, it is tough.

It does not have that cheap feeling when you touch it. The battery can last up to 12 hours. The camera is exceptional, just like how it supports Google apps that are considered better on a smartphone.

In comparison, there is the Asus Chromebook 14inch anti-glare laptop that is quite lightweight. It is a simple version of the Asus Chromebook with stereo speakers, great connectivity, Chrome OS Operating system, a full-sized ergonomic keyboard, Webcam, and 64GB storage on the hard drive.

All these features will make all your activity on a laptop productive, and convenient. Asus appears to be better than Acer, but you can still have a better version of the Acer Chromebook, depending on your own choice of specifications.

Innovations

When looking at how innovative laptops from Acer are, we cannot leave the Swift series that surpasses all other models.

They have this special 15.6-inch display. Acer strikes a great balance between a large display and lightweight. In this era where one can use a laptop anywhere, it has to be portable regardless of other features.

When we are talking about stylish designs, Acer makes sleek laptops. The battery life is impressive. It can last you up to 10 hours.

The cooling system is effective. It has a LiquidLoop fanless cooling system on the Switch 7 Black Edition, which is great. The type of hinges used is vital for durability. The Chromebooks are well-built and advanced.

The Aspire R7 laptop has a stylish display with a sleek hinge that allows it to be flexible as you can move it to any angle. You can make the keyboard slant a bit as you take your comfortable position on your desk.

Versatility best describes Acer as it gives us Aspire Switch 10 with solid glass. You can detach the display from the keyboard and flip and rotate it. The design looks great and is very thin.

Asus has managed to give its users a ScreenPad that has more display and more control over what is run on your laptop. They also carry very slim laptops that have great graphics cards. A detachable keyboard leaves you with a tablet. That is one of the best features that are not common on all laptops.

The ZenBook series is quite innovative, just like the Switch series. The ZenBook 15 UX534 is 15inches wide on display. This laptop embodies creativity. It has an incredible display that is frameless.

The device a lightweight build, elegant, a great ScreenPad, maximum performance, and has great connectivity. The number of ports says it all. It is a top contender. Speed and long battery life that can last up to 15 hours make it beat the Aspire R7 laptop.
